This page of The Authentics ends with the lead character, Daria, stating that she has the illusion of being in control, while never feeling more out of control. That sentiment is in many ways representative of her journey. Daria is passionate, opinionated, and thinks she has figured out a way to make sense of the world and of her place in it. But circumstances challenge her, and much of her journey is one of learning to let go and be open to feeling out of control.
