She applied the Page 69 Test to her new novel, That Night, and reported the following:
My page 69 is a scene between Toni and Ryan—they have a fight because Toni is upset about some things that have been happening to her at school. Later Ryan climbs a tree to her window (a tree she frequently uses to sneak out) so they can talk and they go for a drive. This page shows how they relate to each other, how much they love each other. They always sense when the other needs them. This makes it even more painful when they are separated for years after they are both convicted for a crime they didn’t commit—the murder of Toni’s sister. I think this page captures one of the main themes in the book, which is true love, and whether it can survive everything that happens to these two people.Learn more about the book and author at the official Chevy Stevens website.
